This is a story about
the possibility of
a snowfall in L.A.
of raindrops kissing
1 shoulders,
and of
how my hands
never forgot how to
hold yours.
This is a story about
it being December, but
still sunny and 63 degrees.
of eyelash on eyelash
2 action,
and of
how we said
that we couldn't live without
each other.
This is a story about
indecisive California weather
or Climate Change.
of frozen fingertips
3 intertwined,
and of
how we sometimes
fall apart, but always fall back
together again.
This is a story about
earthquakes halfway
around the world.
of love notes via cell
4 phones,
and of
how you sometimes
make me feel like you only
see me.
This is a story about
a butterfly causing
a hurricane.
of first kisses
5 redone,
and of
how I tend
to get jealous of girls who are jealous
of me.
This is a story about
the importance of it being
a certain season disappearing.
of hazel eyes and
6 blue,
and of
how my favourite
number is seven and the stanzas in this poem
and forever.
This is a story about
hot/cold, hot/cold,
hot/cold.
of me loving
7 you,
and of
how my life
has been a decent place to
live lately.

and wondering how long itll be before we fall
(from the cracks i doubt itll take long
but maybe thats hope speaking, not me)
so far ive pulled trust from right under you
then out came any form of niceties
and the rest, thatll crumble easy
because for cement you thought we used love
but i meant to tell you - my half was only half-hearted dust
just waiting to reclaim its form

he wishes he was
on drugs; smiling, gone, numb,
just losing his mind.
i just wish i was
on your lap, or maybe just
even on your mind.

I like to dream.
I dream that it was night outside your windows and your pale hands were pulling me inside your covers. I dream that the sheets were pulled over our scalps and we were lying with our foreheads pressed together and smiles plastered across our faces. Our knees were bumping and our hipbones were fitting together and your voice was a whisper as you apologized for the fact that your toes are freezing. My fingers were splayed across the curve of your spine and my lips were barely brushing against yours as they whispered back that you're too far away, if you were closer I could keep you warmer. And your hands were in my hair and but

Because I've already told you- I'm tired of sad endings.
And because I'd like for love to be my muse instead of heartbreak.
(Even if it makes me not one of the Greats.)
This is probably the only poem I've ever written where every single word has a purpose and meaning and story behind it, and where every single line is true for me and inspired by something in my life.
And it has an obvious pattern going, but there're also little patterns weaved into the main pattern:
Lines 7-9 of 1 relate to 4/5 of 3.
4/5 of 4 relate to 7-9 of 2.
7-9 of 3 relate to 4/5 of 5.
7-9 of 4 relate to 4/5 of 6,
and etc.
and stanza 7 is magick and therefore doesn't have to follow all of the patterns.
Speaking of 7, there are 7 letters in "forever" and in "I'm naive" and in "I know it" and in "Don't G.A.F." and in "love him."
And I'd like to get to know all of the nameless, faceless people who read what I write but never say anything about it.
I'd also like to talk to the people who read it and do comment it.
It all makes me overly happy.
And I'm thankful.
